Investing in Innovation (I3) — Free Proposal Writing Workshop for COE Institutional Members
| WHAT |
One of the proposed competitive priorities for I3 Funding is for Innovations that Support
College Access and Success. COE believes that many current college access programs — Talent
Search, Upward Bound and GEAR-UP as well as state and privately funded programs — have the
potential to prepare competitive proposals for I3 funding and we are delighted to be able to
offer this workshop as a means of assisting you in doing so.
The U.S. Department of Education has released a preliminary notice regarding the availability
of funding under the Investing in Innovation (I3) program:
A final notice is expected in January w/ applications due in late spring; funding available Oct. 1, 2010.
$650 million has been allocated for this initiative through Federal Stimulus monies.
Eligible grantees include school districts, colleges and universities and community agencies.
It is anticipated that most grants awarded in this competition will be in the $3 to $5 million dollar range,
and cover a 3 to 5 year period. However larger grants will also be awarded.
