Information For and About TRIO Students
- Teach in Denver! — The Denver Public School (DPS) system is committed to finding a diverse population to work with their students. They are reaching out and asking you to consider teaching in Denver after you graduate! We encourage you to visit the DPS website to learn more about Denver and the vast opportunities awaiting you. A couple of opportunities you do not want to miss are:
- Denver Teacher Residency Program — (1 year apprenticeship, 1 year for licensure & Master’s degree). Intended for non-licensed candidates who possess a Bachelor’s degree but do not have teaching experience, the DTR program offers an alternative route into a teaching position through a strategic combination of clinical classroom experience in urban, high-needs DPS schools.
- Denver Teaching Fellows — This competitive program recruits, selects, and trains career changers and recent graduates to close the achievement gap by becoming effective teachers in highest need schools. Denver Teaching Fellows provides candidates with a DPS-specific, 6-week summer training prior to teaching.
